Time is like a river, always moving forward. It slips away, flows away without us realizing, never to come back. Time flies, leaving us to ponder if there’s time to sit and reminisce, time to laugh with our kids, time to just take a walk. Of all the things in the world, time is something we all wish for more of. When Brigade asked us to design something for them, something special and exclusive, I found myself running short on time.
I wanted to halt time, just for a moment, to discover something special. It happened when I found myself entranced by flowing water—drop by drop. At that moment, the design idea was born, realizing that liquid is the only state of matter with a definite volume but no fixed shape. We translated the drip of water into an architectural design, hoping it would serve as a reminder for people to pause, even if just for a brief moment in the day.
It means owning and enjoying a piece of modern architecture rooted in time-bound practices that used to be the norm in Bangalore—privacy, openness, adjacency to green spaces, etc. The Caladium Residences are extremely luminous and easily adaptable to a wide range of living requirements. The architectural design is dominated by a sensual form highlighted by the profile of the rooftop connecting the two towers. This provides a soft and elegant form that transforms into recreation space in the sky.
The movement of the facade is sinuous, with curvilinear decks and large balconies bringing greenery into individual apartments. As the entrance to one of the fastest-growing metropolitan cities in India, the project comprises residential development spread across an area of approximately 2 acres. The site is located in North Bangalore, just 14 km from the city center.
